What are parked domains?
Problem:
What is a parked domain? Does my website support parked domains?Solution:
A parked domain is a second domain name that you point, or "park" to you main domain name so that both domain names will pull up the same website when entered in a browser. For example, if your main website is jamessmith.com, and you registered and park jimmysmith.com to it, visitors can type both names in the browser and find your main site, jamessmith.com. Parked domains are useful when changing domain names because you can park the old name to the new one until it is phased out completely. Some shared hosting accounts include park domains while others do not. Parked domains that are not included in your package incur a one-time fee of $8.95/park. For additional information, or to request a parked domain, please email sales@olm.net. Be sure to include your main domain name and the domain name you would like parked to it.
